The "Miracle Dress" is back in business. Stella McCartney revives her iconic design.

The "Miracle Dress" is back in business. Stella McCartney revives her iconic design.

Thirteen years ago, Stella McCartney unveiled the "miracle dress," which instantly became the object of desire for red carpet stylists. The Miracle Dress hasn't been forgotten, and what's more, it has seen a new interpretation this year. Is this the "miracle dress" making a comeback?

From a dress that is called wonderful, we expect splendor – spectacular details, intricately arranged draping, and a construction that goes beyond the traditional idea of evening fashion.

In fact, the "Miracle Dress" (originally named Octavia before the media christened it with a new title) bases its phenomenon on simplicity and optical illusion.

The dress combines two contrasting fabrics, one darker and one lighter, creating a visual effect of chiaroscuro. Carefully designed lines and material proportions shape the silhouette, accentuating the hips, slimming the waist, and sculpting the shoulders.

The dress premiered during Stella McCartney's winter collection show in 2011. Soon after, the "Miracle Dress" became a celebrity favorite, worn by Penélope Cruz, Kate Winslet, Alicia Keys, Liv Tyler, and Gwyneth Paltrow, among others. And while none of the women needed optical tricks to impress, the design offered them something more: the assurance that they would look as stunning on camera as they do in person (and, as we know, those two things don't always go hand in hand).

Miracle Dress and the star of the series Sukcesja

The archival "Miracle Dress" design has returned to the Stella McCartney range with the launch of the vegan Ryder handbag.

In last year's winter campaign for the brand , a maxi dress was presented by Sarah Snook , star of the award-winning series "Succession".

Stella McCartney is renowned for her use of innovative and eco-friendly materials. This updated version of the "miracle dress" follows her tradition – this time, the designer has used responsibly sourced, flexible viscose. The maxi model combines classic, smooth black or red with a semi-sheer mesh, reflecting the ongoing fascination with mesh garments.

McCartney's "Miracle Dress" has also appeared in a shorter version. True to its original design, it combines sheer elements in shades of black and white. While the mesh maxi exudes a party vibe, the midi is the answer to more formal occasions. Do you think Stella McCartney's iconic dress has a chance of making a permanent comeback?
